The Design Process
There are numerous steps in the web site design and development process. From gathering initial information, to the creation of your web site, and finally maintenance to keep your web site up to date and current.
Information GatheringThe first step in designing a successful web site is to gather information. You talk, I listen, then we discuss, I need to get a solid understanding of what your goals and dreams are for your website.
It is important that I start off by asking a lot of questions to help me understand your business and your needs in a website.
Design & DevelopmentDrawing from the information gathered up to this point, it’s time to determine the look and feel of your site and to do a prototype or mockup of the website.
The developmental stage is the point where the web site itself is created. I start off by designing the home page then I design the other pages and the menu structure. I will take your content and pictures that you have provided and add it throughout the site, in the appropriate areas.
This is when I will let you review your site and see what you want added or changed.
Testing and DeliveryAt this point, we will attend to the final details and test your web site. As part of testing, we check to be sure that all of the code written for your web site validates.
Once your domain name and hosting accounts have been setup, and your web site uploaded to the server, the site should be put through one last run-through. This is just precautionary, to confirm that all files have been uploaded correctly, and that the site continues to be fully functional.
This marks the official launch of your site, as it is now viewable to the public.
